Student's Praise Architectural Technology and Piping Draughting Courses

African Academy students tell of their experiences of studying the Architectural Technology and Piping Draughting courses.
The National Higher Certificate in Piping Draughting, a qualification that has been developed with industry, is enabling current employees to upskill on a user-friendly and practical course. The course commenced in January this year with 25 students who are thoroughly enjoying it whilst in the employ of their respective industries.
The course aims to lay a foundation for future career advancement to supervisory and management levels within the sector of Piping Engineering.
Nadine Bezuidenhout, a current employee of TWP Projects, a division of Basil Read, explains that she is finding the course very interesting and is thoroughly enjoying it. “This course is very professional and allows me to work and study at the same time. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone. I have already recommended it to five colleagues and they will all be coming on board”.
Monde Ngalonkulu from KOG Piping is also finding the course very informative and is certainly enjoying studying it. “The Academy has an interesting climate along with friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone in the piping industry, I have already recommended it to two people”.
The Piping Draughting Course allows students to progress into career paths such as Piping Draughting and Design, Piping Fabrication and Design and assists students to work towards becoming a Piping Engineer. The course is offered on a full or part-time basis – depending on the student’s requirements.
One of the African Academy’s other courses, the National Higher Certificate in Architectural Technology, has been developed to provide an introduction to the profession of Architecture and its role within the greater Build environment.
African Academy student, Kerri-Lee Erasmus, is finding the Architectural Technology course captivating. “The material is very intriguing and I would definitely recommend this course to anyone. I would not improve on anything in the course, it’s perfect as is”. She went on to state that the course could even contain a heavier workload as she found it to be a breeze.
Gerhardus Marx, an employee at Weir Minerals Africa is also finding the Architectural Technology course to be very interesting. “I like it a lot! The climate is familiar and enjoyable and I would most certainly recommend it to anyone in the field of Architecture”.
The Architectural Technology course allows for ease of movement to other related fields of expertise. The course will assist students to enter into the career paths of Architectural Technology, Interior Design and to become Professional Architects.
The African Academy continuously strives to reduce the skills shortage within the Build industry in South Africa by offering affordable and targeted courses for the previously disadvantaged population. Placing 90% of students into the Build industry on a continuous basis shows that the Academy is achieving its goals year by year.
