This course is part time and takes place at our faculty every Saturday.

Purpose:

The purpose of this qualification is to equip a person to become a highly-trained and capable Project Manager. Project management is a well-sought after profession that uses the industry knowledge, processes, skills, tools, and techniques to help projects meet their deadlines and reach their goals. Qualified students will enjoy the reward of accomplishment that comes with this dynamic occupation.

A qualified learner will be able to:

  • Initiate a project to address specific project objectives.
  • Plan and prepare the delivery of a project. 
  • Plan project management systems.
  • Execute and control the delivery of a project management plan.
  • Manage the project close out process.

This qualification also requires the following Work Experience Modules:

  • Attend to project initiation management processes
  • Attend to project planning processes
  • Attend to project execution and control processes
  • Attend to project close out processes

Project Management Course Structure: Occupational Certificate: Project Manager NQF 5

Phase 1: Introduction to Project Management

Phase 1: Introduction to Knowledge Management

Knowledge and Practical Skills Modules

  • Understanding of the 10 knowledge areas of Project Management.
  • Utilising Project Management Tools.
  • Applying problem solving techniques.
  • Risk Identification in Projects.
  • Knowledge of all documents related to a medium size project.
  • Lifecycles of a Project.
  • Full glossary related to Project Management.
  • Project costing.

Duration:

Part-time: 9 consecutive Saturdays 8:00 – 10:00.

Three intakes per year:

Intake one lectures commence January.

Intake two lectures commence May.

Intake three lectures commence August.

Project Management Course Fees:

R 5 900.00
R 2 900.00 deposit and the balance in 2 equal instalments of R 1 450.00

30 Consecutive Saturdays 10:00 -12:00

One Intake per Annum – January

R 7 600.00

R 2 600.00 deposit and the balance in 2 equal instalments of R 2 500.00

  • Manage and control the human resources of a project
  • Conduct and control project communication and stakeholder interaction
  • Manage and control project risks
  • Manage and control project procurement activities
  • Manage and control project close-out activities

Duration:

Part-time: 35 consecutive Wednesday/Thursdays 18:00-20:00.

One Intake per Annum – January 

Project Management Course Fees:

R 28 500.00

R 3 500.00 deposit and the balance in 10 equal instalments of R 2 500.00

EXIT LEVEL OUTCOME:

  • Initiate a project to address specific project objectives
  • Plan and prepare the delivery of a project
  • Execute and control the delivery of a project management plan
  • Manage the project close out process

this qualification also requires following work experience modules:

  • Attend to project initiation management processes
  • Attend to project planning processes
  • Attend to project execution and control processes

notes:

Qualifying for external assessment:
In order to qualify for an external assessment, learners must provide proof of completion of all required knowledge and practical modules by means of statements of results and a record (Logbook) of completed work experience

Conclusion:
The qualification is closely aligned with the two most recognised international standards for project managers.
