The deal
We’re picking a group of African Academy alumni to become our Alumni Champions – the faces (and voices) of what studying here actually leads to. If you’re chosen to be a Champion, your stories get shared across our socials for 8 weeks. And at the end of it, four of you walk away with real cash.

Why you'd actually want to do this

How to get in
Step 1: Fill in the quick form.
Name, contact details, what you studied, when you graduated. Two minutes, tops.
Step 2: Pick one question:
- What’s one thing about your time at AA that changed the direction of your career?
- If a mate was thinking about studying at AA, what would you actually tell them?
- What’s a moment from your AA journey you still think about?
Step 3: Film your answer
60-90 seconds. Phone camera or voice note, whatever you’ve got. No editing required – we want you, not a production.
Step 4: Submit before 14 September 2026
That’s it. You’re in.
What actually gets you picked
We’re not judging you on your job title or your follow count. We’re looking for people who are real, easy to listen to, and have something worth saying. If you’re the kind of person who can hold a room’s attention telling a story at a braai, you’re exactly who we want.
IF YOU MAKE THE CUT
Getting shortlisted isn’t the finish line, it’s when the actual competition starts. Here’s the commitment:
One 30-second video a week, for 8 weeks. Talk about anything to do with your AA journey – a lecturer who stuck with you, a project you’re proud of, advice for someone starting out. We’ll throw you a topic idea each week if you want one.
Send it our way. We handle the posting, you just film and send.
Every video counts. Each week’s video feeds into your score for the prizes, so consistency matters as much as any single great video.
Eight videos. Eight weeks. That's the whole ask.
The timeline
- Now – 14 September: Entries Open.
- By 30 September: We tell you if you’ve made the cut
- October – November (8 weeks): Chosen Champions go live across our socials
- Early December: Winners announced. Cash paid out.
