Purpose: The purpose of the NQF5-NQF6 Architectural Technology National Certificate is to:

Introduce students to the architectural profession, help them understand the broader context of the built environment and aid them in becoming architectural technology specialists.

A qualified learner will be able to:

• Work as a Candidate Architectural Draughtsperson.
• Have a holistic understanding of the built environment.

Architectural Technology Course Structure:
NQF5 Certificate (NQF 5 SAQA ID: 48734)

Admission Requirements:
  • NQF 4 Drawing Office Practice or
  • N4/5 Multi Drawing Office practice or
  • Grade 12 (competency in English language, Mathematics & EGD

Our selection procedure consists of proof of the above qualifications/reference and an interview to confirm suitability, aptitude, and experience.

NQF5 Knowledge Modules:
Duration:

Full time for One year (120 Credits)

Basic Draughting Course Fees:

R 39 500.00 – Excluding Laptop – Note that an annual price increase may be applicable depending on economic indicators.
R 6 500.00 – Deposit, and the balance payable in 7 equal installments.

Note:

Access to this qualification is open, bearing in mind learning assumed, to be in place.

 

NQF6 Knowledge Modules:
Duration:

Two years (240 credits)
All class based credits are achieved via your study duration at the African Academic , self-study, reading, researching and project based assignments. 240 hours of workplace/in-service training is required to be done by the student in order to complete the course & acquired certification. This in-service training must be secured by the student. The African Academy takes no responsibility for this

Full time or part time:

This course will be offered either on a full time or part time basis depending on the demand at commencement of the course.
Full Time NQF 6 1st year: Tuesday & Friday 09:00 – 13:00
Part Time NQF 6 2nd Year: Friday evenings 17:00 – 20:00 and Saturday 09:00 – 13:00

Basic Draughting Course Fees:

R 35 500.00 – Excluding Laptop. Note that an annual price increase may be appliable depending on economic indicators
R5 500.00 – Registration Fee and the balance in 10 equal instalments.

Additional Costs (books, kits, etc):

Digital textbooks are provided; however, learners are advised to acquire a personal laptop.

Certification

NQF 5: On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a National Certificate, issued by the Construction Seta.

NQF6: On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a CETA accredited certificate
