“Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.”

—Sir Henry Royce

There are many problems that each of us face every single day; each of those issues are unique to us and require different solutions.

It is with Sir Henry Royce’s quote in mind that African Academy strives to create learning opportunities for everyone, regardless of their resources and backgrounds.

Having found a great need for a reliable tertiary institution that not only taught students but offered integral life and work skills, we have created exactly that through a precise, hands-on educational approach that prepares our students for everything that comes after graduation as well.

That is why we have spent countless hours cultivating our certifications and preparing them for our students to ensure they are getting the absolute best out of African Academy as well as themselves. With a number of courses for draughting certificates available, there is a course for everyone looking into a draughting career.

Starting with our Multi-disciplinary Drawing Office Practice N4/N5 (MDDOP), which covers different disciplines of Engineering such as Building, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical and Structural Steel Detailing, there is no better introductory course to draughting. This course is available online for all students across the African continent, making it that much simpler for our students to get their draughting certificates.

This online course has allowed many of our students to achieve their dreams of building a career in draughting, helping them create brighter futures for themselves and those around them.

Our Piping Draughting course (NQF 5) is best suited to students looking to be a part of the design and creation of piping solutions on multiple scales, calling for skilled and specialised draughtspeople. Offering a Certificate from Quality Council for Trades and Occupation (QCTO), this course is part time, and is completed within two years.

Our Structural Steelwork Draughting course (NQF5) is suited to students with an eye for detail who are also able to see the “big picture”. This course equips students with the skills needed to work within the steelwork industry, on large-scale steel structures from conception to design. Offering a Certificate from the Construction Seta, this course is also available part-time over a duration of three years.

In conclusion, our draughting courses have been designed to equip our students with the skills and expertise needed to explore various industries. It is our hope that each and every one of our students will reach new heights and forge new paths in the world of draughting.
