Learn Everything You Need to Know About Draughting with Our MDDOP Course

Approaching draughting from every angle, our Basic Draughting Course is perfect for the student interested in draughting as a career, but who is unsure of what type of draughting to specialise in. Our MDDOP course introduces them to different disciplines such as engineering, building, mechanical, piping, and structural steel detailing, and trains them in draughting software.

Purpose: To introduce students to all draughting fields and equip them with basic draughting skills.

A qualified learner will be able to:

Draught basic technical drawings and use industry-standard software.

Selection Procedure:

A candidate who meets our admission requirements will enter into a selection process that consists of a PIB (Potential Index Battery) test and an interview.

MDDOP Course Structure:
Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice N4/N5

Admission Requirements:

Knowledge, comprehension and application of language. We recommend Mathematics, Physical Science and Technical Drawing at Matric level or equivalent. However, should you not have these, we have bridging courses for these subjects to equip you to succeed in this filed. These bridging courses are 3 months in duration.

Note:

Our selection procedure consists of proof of the above qualifications/reference and an interview to confirm suitability, aptitude, and experience.

N4/N5 Knowledge Modules:

Duration:

ONE Year

Basic Draughting Course Fees:

R 45 000.00 
R 8000.00 deposit, and the balance of R6170 payable in 6 equal installments.

Additional Costs (books, kits, etc):

Drawing Kit and Student Card – Included. 

Students are required to download Auto-Cad software on their own.

Certification

On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a National certificate from the Department of Higher Education and an African Academy statement of results.

Career Opportunities

The holder of a National N4 – N5 Certificate in Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice

  • Junior draughtsperson in any of the related disciplines
  • CAD operator
  • On successful completion, a student can study towards an Engineering qualification (Rated N4, N5, N6)
  • Student can study the Engineering Design & Draughting courses.
