So, you’ve heard that we offer the option of studying draughting online but aren’t sure which courses we offer online and what’s ultimately right for you and your career aspirations – not to worry, we’re about to share all the information you need to make the right decision.
What is MDDOP?
MDDOP stands for Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice. This course provides you with a broad skill base that enables you to draught for different disciplines, such as building, mechanical, piping, electrical and structural steel detailing.
While these fields are vastly different, they all share basic technical drawing skills, practiced across the globe. You learn these skills in our MDDOP course, and you are familiarised with a common software program (AutoCAD 2D Software) that helps you execute your draughting skills in line with professional standards.
What Courses Do We Offer Online?
Currently, our MDDOP course is the only online draughting course we offer. However, we have excellent infrastructure to facilitate e-learning, and plan to expand on this in future.
How Do Students Study Online?
We have developed our own online platform that students log in to in order to access all information related to their studies and to access lectures, which are live streamed online. All our online courses are recorded and uploaded to our e-teaching platform/portal for students to download and view any time that best suits them.
What is the Benefit of Studying Draughting Online Through AA?
Our Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice course has been developed alongside industry experts, making the course relevant to current industry standards and practices (and we constantly update our material whenever these standards or practices change). Our MDDOP course is also very affordable when compared to other institutions and is of an extremely high calibre, producing students who are very employable.
If you’d like to learn more about the benefits of online learning, then click this text to read it.

Still not sure if studying draughting online is right for you? We’ll leave you with this thought from our lecturer and online learning expert, Christabel Phiri:
“The biggest challenge for learners is to figure out what skills are
emerging and what they can do to compete best in the global
market. We’re in a world that’s changing so quickly that skills that
were valued years back are no longer relevant. This confuses people
as they don’t know what they should be learning.”
At this moment, online learning with AA will be a huge catalyser for
these people and companies in helping them adopt to this rapid
change in the world.”
